Comments regarding the visit of Dr. Schoch and Dr. Dowell to Visoko
In recent days there has been intensive discussion in some media outlets on the preliminary report of Doctor of Philosophy and Parapsychology Colette Dowell, assistant to the geologist Dr. Robert Schoch, who together spent twelve days visiting the Archaeological Park Foundation: Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun and Bosnia and Herzegovina. On this, the Foundation is issuing a statement by the President of the Board, Semir Osmanagich, commenting on the preliminary report of the guests from the USA.
The initial contact, followed by this visit, came from Dr. Dowell in June. The request of a formal visit was accepted, and the Foundation decided to host them and cover the costs of their stay.

Mid-week Update on Bosnian Pyramid project for 3.08.2006 As we enter the month of August, the project continues to take undeniable shape, and this week has brought some great developments. The trial phase is nearing its end, and the foundation's experts are now concentrating on exploring potentially rich and relevant areas on both pyramids. For this week's progress, we first travel to the Pyramid of the Sun, where sites 5, 14, 16 and 18 were active, with major activity on site no. 5. On this site on the north face of the pyramid, a host of pottery shards, fired organic remains and soil were discovered Tuesday, August 1, by Serbian archaeologist Aleksandra Andeloković. Ms. Andelković is working on section C of the square (where the artifacts and organic materials were found), which has been excavated to a depth of 10 cm, and is now being expanded. Samples of fired soil were taken for lab analysis. In sites 14 and 16, also on the north side, the clearing of surface layer is ongoing with the removal of tree trunks cut last week. On the plateau, site no. 18 is also being cleared of its surface layer, and the square is now at a depth of 3.2 meters. On the Pyramid of the Moon, major excavations are underway to find the base of the pyramid. The area under site no. 1 on the west side, the terrace, is being opened in intervals as part of the probe. Several of these trial sites yielded nothing remarkable, but today stair-shaped sandstone tiles were found in section B2. Also on the west side, site no. 4 continues to be expanded, now standing one meter deep in the hill. Sites on the plateau of the Moon were active as well. This week has also brought many guests and volunteers, led by superstar American geologists Prof. Robert Schoch and Colette Dovell, who arrived on July 31 and will stay until August 9. The geologists have been inspecting the pyramids and tunnels, and will present their findings next week. On Tuesday, August 1, a group of Italian documentary filmmakers visited the Pyramid of the Moon , as part of a project on the Balkan region. They stayed two days, then left for Mostar... They were followed by another filmmaking team, from Omroep Llink, a Dutch TV network. They are working on a documentary on the natural beauty of BiH... Lydia Kokavcoca, of Slovak State TV in Bratislava, visited the pyramids and interviewed Semir Osmanagic... 15 volunteers from the Italian student exchange program EQUAMENTE arrived and worked on cleaning the surface of site no. 15. They will stay for four days. Wednesday, August 2, two youth commissions from BiH visited the pyramids. They represented the Parliament of Ze-Do Canton and Visoko Municipality, respectively. Today, August 3, Vladimir Romanov, the director of Ukio Bank visited. He was met by Mr. Osmanagic... A delegation from the OSCE of Zenica also met with Mr. Osmanagic, and heard a presentation on the Bosnian Pyramids... Austrian soldiers from EUFOR toured the pyramids... Mladina, a Slovenian news magazine, sent a reporter to Visoko for a feature article on the foundation and its ongoing works. |

Avdić: Unesco Will Send Experts (to Bosnian Pyramid) “I am here, in the function of president of… the state commission for cooperation with Unesco. After touring the Pyramid of the Moon and the whole complex, my skepticism has been replaced by optimism,” Parliament member and Unesco chairman for the region Sead Avdić said in a statement today. Mr. Avdić first visited the Pyramid of the Moon , where he met with the originator of the pyramid hypothesis, Semir Osmanagić. Mr. Osmanagić guided the Unesco chairman through a few active sites on the pyramid, and explained the excavation techniques. After the tour, Mr. Avdić received a presentation of the project, its accomplishments and future plans. Mr. Avdić called the project very strong, and noted that it is not strange for there to be debate on its merits in the scientific community. “The thing I saw today is man-made, and my opinion is that this fact is of the greatest importance. Now there is just the question of the age of these structures, and in what sense they will change history, not just for BiH, but for all of Europe and the world.” The Unesco chairman also announced a future meeting of the commission on the subject, involving a wide range of experts from both outside and within the foundation. |

Interview with Joachim Reinhold about pyramid in Bosnia Joachim Reinhold is at the end of his week as a guest of the foundation, a week which produced many insights and fodder for future speculations. He is a senior customs officer in Germany, but was trained in a range of sciences. He was kind enough to give us his impressions of what he saw in his stay. What are your impressions of the project so far? I think the people are doing a great job. There's definitely something big here, hidden under the hills, and it will take quite a lot of time to explore what is lurking down there. But I do think this will provide a great chance for the Bosnian people to attach themselves to a better vision of life. I think it's obvious, when you observe everything and try to put the pieces together, you will see that many things here are attached to a more widened view of science. Can you give me your impressions of the specific sites? I've been to the Pyramid of the Sun, also the Pyramid of the Moon. Both pyramids stand in their own way. You have different archaeological features, different geological features, they're certainly different in the making, and there must be an explanation why the two pyramids differ so much. Give me your thoughts on the critics of this project. Let's put it like this: if you have a theory that's not mainstream, you will always get criticized for it. It even happens on a much lower scale than the question of whether we have pyramids here or not. I do think that history was rewritten so often for lesser reasons that the search for the truth is something that people need to question. If you don't question the past you lose your vision for the future... But by ignoring what [nations] had in the past they're not seeing that they might recreate the same problems they had in the past. And in order to avoid falling into the same traps, you really have to know where you have come from, what you have done, good and bad. It's a way of growing up. And I think that the nations of the world are like children who play with what they find. Their playground is history, and they try to put the blocks together into a picture that might fit, or explain why they have so many problems among each other. But this is wrong. You can't mix up history. History is fact, and you have to find out where you really come from, and what really happened in the past. So you think this project is trying to get at this pure history? Well, I won't talk about Bosnia, it's a new complex, it hasn't been on the maps for more than 1,000 years. There were people here before, and probably there were people before them. Basically I think the whole project is about the question of what happened in the past, and what can be learned from the past, and perhaps, where we really come from. |
