Heath does not slow down Excavation on the Pyramids

 

Several excavation sites on Pyramid of the Sun are being kept active; from the excavation site no. 1 a samples of organic materials were taken and will be sent for analysis. Also, samples of red-coloured sandstone will be sent for additional analysis.

Several excavation sites on Pyramid of the Sun are being kept active

 

On the Pyramid of the Sun, surface layers are being removed on excavation sites no.15 (the eastern face) and no. 16 (the southern face). At the same time, on site no. 9 soil extraction continues.

 

Nancy Gallou and Silvana Chobanov continued working on excavation site no. 12 with a preliminary exploration on the section of 0.8 x 1.0 m within the rectangular stone structure.

 

The excavation teams were joined today by Massimiliano Bottega, a volunteer from Italy, who intends to stay for a couple of weeks. He is a graphic designer who decided to spend his annual leave in Visoko, contributing to the discovery of the first Pyramids in Europe .

 

Several media outlets are devoting time to the excavations - NTV Hayat did reportage, and a network from Germany, TV ZDF, continues to follow the excavations. TV ZDF has been following the project from its earliest days.

 

Mr. Semir Osmanagic was also interviewed by a jounalist for the Norwegian weekly magazine Dagbladet, by Mortenu Overbyeu, who spent several days in Sarajevo and Visoko.
